Fitness to Work & Back to Work Assessments:
I have extensive experience in the psychological assessment of mental health as it pertains to the workplace, including work-related stress, and capacity to work and/or return to work following absence for psychological reasons.
For example, in addition to direct referrals from various occupational health departments, between 2007 and 2010 I was an Affiliate Consultant Clinical Psychologist for AXA-ICAS, in which capacity I provided independent assessments of psychological fitness to return to work in the private sector.
Between 2004 and 2006, I was Consultant Clinical Psychologist to the Occupational Health Department of Greater Manchester Police, in which role I provided assessment and treatment for police officers and civilian employees, including assessment of fitness to return to work, and the treatment of a range of psychological conditions (specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder).
Since 2008 I have been the Coordinator of Clinical Services at St Luke’s Centre, Manchester, where I have led in excess of 800 multidisciplinary psychological assessments of candidates for the priesthood and religious life, for the Ordinariate, and assessments (including risk assessments) of priests and men and women religious seeking to return to ministry following emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.
I will try to see the employee as soon as possible following receipt of a written request, (usually within 1-2 weeks, but please check at the time for a precise timescale) and provide a written report typically within one week of the assessment. A precise quotation of cost will be made available upon request.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly should you wish to have an informal discussion about an employee’s psychological wellbeing.
